Welcome to the Nassau County Sheriff Guardians Inc.

HISTORY

The Nassau County Sheriffs Guardians inc, formally known as the Brother of the shield was formed for officers of color in 1960 to assist them with emerging issues in a sometime racially divisive environment.  The Organization was chartered in 1972.  The Nassau County Sheriff Guardians Inc., are affiliated with the National Black Police Association, Nassau County Guardians,  New York City Guardians and the Grand Councils of Guardians.  

MISSION

Nassau County Sheriff Guardians Inc, Mission is to promote better conditions and practices where all offices of color can achieve proper representation and knowledge around their issues connected to being employed at the Nassau County Sheriff Department.

Along with our Mission we wish to raise the consciousness of the officers of color regarding the proper policies proceeds and opportunities within the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department.  During our monthly membership meetings, goals, workshops, and networking events are scheduled.

As officers of color, we have a responsibility to be positive role models in our community as well as being a positive force within the sheriff department.   It is our hope that we can represent each officer with their unique issues appoint he in the right direction for the services available o them.  The agenda will continue o embrace the concept that we have a real value to our members an them to us.

Membership in the Nassau County Sheriff Guardians, Inc. is not something to be taken lightly.  A member carries the responsibility to get involved and to institute change for the better.  The Nassau County Sheriff Guardians, Inc. membership is an investment in your future and the future of all people of color in the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department.
